On November 30, 2019, our transnational photo marathon took place simultaneously in the three Caucasian capitals Baku, Tbilisi and Yerevan.
More than 50 photographers embarked on a creative search for motifs that matched 15 different topics related with the issues of identity, diversity and connectivity. At the end of the day - after 8 hours of run and gun photography - a total of over 500 individual photos were submitted.
The results are extremely exciting and creative photographs that also document the same day in three different places. Since the participants all expressed themselves in one photographic language, we decided to mix the results from all three cities with one another.
Although or precisely because the focus of this project was on creative expression and intercultural exchange, we had to face some unexpected obstacles. While the photo marathon itself ran without any problems, the planned exhibition of all photos in Baku and Yerevan turned out to be impossible. While the outbreak of Covid-19 was the reason for the cancellation in Yerevan, we were clearly advised that the exhibition should not take place in Baku at all.
We therefore decided not to hold a physical exhibition in any of the two cities, as long as we cannot show all results without censorship and without security concerns. We are especially sorry for the participants of the marathon, who had to wait a long time for a way to see the results.
In response to the mentioned obstacles, we finally decided to transfer the exhibition to the digital space and we hope that you are going to enjoy browsing through the photos here.
In this sense: Stay creative and have fun with our online exhibition.
